Random House published these two volumes as a boxed set in 1943. I found out about them in the movie Definitely, Maybe, where this particular volume of Jane Eyre plays a role. There are no dust jackets, just the engravings on both front and back (flipped on the back) and the novel's name and author on the spine. If you click on the first image to enlarge, you'll spot Jane herself...but she'll creep up on you.

As soon as I saw it in the movie I remembered that I had a copy of the book. I hadn't seen it since I was about 10 - amazing how some things stay in your memory. Great book, enjoyed the movie.
My mom recently bought these two books as a gift for me from Ebay.
I had the unique privilege of reading Jane Eyre for the first time in this edition of the novel. It will be forever branded in my heart as the only version of Jane Eyre to read.
The books are oversized and the text is in two columns. A wonderful edition, with enchanting and haunting illustrations.

Fantastic set - I agree, they are the ONLY editions in my mind. I usually have a set of these to sell on etsy. Just look for my seller name, callmejasper.
