Charlotte Strick: Shadow and Light
This is a mystery set in Berlin between the world wars. When an executive of the Ufa Film Studios is murdered, a detective must inflitrate Berlin's sex and drug trade and Hitler's Browshirts to find the killer. I love the period detail here - from the frame to the awesome title font. And those searchlights rock. The cover is printed on metallic paper so it has a great sheen, and the border is gold foil.

wow, this must be even more lovely in person the way you describe the production on it.
That lettering and border really make this what it is.
fer sher.
Am I the only one who finds the type kind of clunky and expected? I feel like I've seen this cover a million times. Maybe it's better in person?
I like Paul Rogers' version much better: http://drawger.com/paulrogers/?cat_id=513;
Wow, that is fascinating. Looks like it made the UK cover.
Paul Rogers' version was a bit too excited on the type front. I like the more approachable look of Charlotte's font choice.
Rogers' would make a great poster.
