Jason Booher: Spade and Archer

Beautiful cover for the prequel to The Maltese Falcon. I'm guessing the inspiration comes from black and white thriller movie titles, like The 39 Steps. I wonder if this was completely digital or if some parts were photographed.


Incidentally, the titles for The Maltese Falcon aren't too shabby either:

Chip started working on this title and got nowhere with it. Jason took it over and did a fantastic job.

The idea to draw from old movie titles was actually Chip's. But he generously felt that I should get the sole design credit on the jacket for executing the idea. So there's definitely a bit of both of us here.
