Don't you think that always putting an Asian on cover seems a bit obvious? It's not very imaginative.
I think that in this series, it works because the art looks like vintage advertising, and because they always play with it - the dots, or the criss-crossing circles of South of the Border, or the luminscent moon in the middle of Wind Up Bird Chronicles.
Plus, there's a big market out there that has a huge crush on Japanese girls.
This is just gorgeous!

A book cover has to sell, right? ;-) Still, i find Kidd's After the quake is much more subtle for example.
Besides, this one has a deja vu flavor.
